PSA-2043  CCLI#5840748  “Take My Life.” Song of devotion with lyrics from the hymn "Take my Life, O Lord, Renew."  Text by Frances R. Havengal, with new music by Dr. Norm Wick.

"Take My Life" - Lead Sheet

Take my life, O Lord, renew, Consecrate my heart to You;
Take my moments and my days; Let them sing Your ceaseless praise.

Take my hands and let them do Works that show my love for You;
Take my feet and lead their way, Never let them go astray.

Take my voice and let me sing Praises to my Savior King;
Take my lips and keep them true, Filled with messages from You.

Take my love; my Lord, I pour At Your feet its treasure store;
Take my self, Lord, let me be Yours alone eternally.

For Andy (4/22/91-5/23/2011), In Memoriam

"Take My Life," contains a profound text of personal stewardship, but it has been given a new melody and a modern feel by Psalm 96 Music.  The original hymn text was penned by Frances R. Havergal in 1874, and is slightly altered in this rendition.  This adaptation is dedicated to the memory of Andy Krippner, PFC, son of Pastor Ken and Pam Krippner of Garland, Texas.  Andy was killed while on combat patrol, along with four other soldiers of the 25th Infantry Division of the United States Army, serving in Kunar Provence, Afghanistan.  The gentle spirit of the song, yet the powerful nature of its text, detailing an earnest desire for life-long dedication and faithfulness to God, is reminiscent of this young man's life of faith and service.

Recording Credits: Dr. Norm Wick, vocal solo & piano.
